A hot air balloon flight…
Just the idea made me dream when I received my gift card, and the impatience only grew until the moment finally came. It happened on a sunny and cool morning of March, just between winter and spring: the trees still bare showed their first buds, the rapeseed flowers had just started blossoming, the grass was the most tender green.
That morning at sunrise, we met up in a field near Saint-Martory with Colette and Eric from Ballon Bleu Horizon. Walking in the dewy grass with our faces warmed up by the first rays of sun, we helped inflating the balloon. Then, the four of us aboard the small basket with Eric, we slowly but quickly moved away from the ground. It was done so smoothly that if I had closed my eyes I would not have known we had left the ground. Once up there: calm and tranquility. We flew over forests, isolated farms, fields, herds, deers. The soft, low light of March caressed the bare trees and the young spring vegetation.
I had a great time, and also enjoyed taking the pictures below.
The landing took place in a field in Mondavezan – what a surprise! Then Eric and Colette offered us champagne to celebrate this morning which was really unique. A big thank you to both of you for these magical moments and this Sunday unlike any other.
